Shady Canyon Golf Club Wedding From Living Cinema

Abby will tell you that when she gets a wedding from Aaron & Jenn Delesie in her box, her heart skips a little beat! This particular wedding had another huge thing going for it ~ the hands-on magic of Brooke Keegan ~ another of Abby’s absolute faves! When you hear that this wedding was featured on SMP in five parts, well, you’ll know just how spectacular it was!! from Abby … This is my dream wedding. Seriously. My dream wedding. And for a girl that looks at literally hundreds of weddings a week, that speaks volumes as to just how smitten I am with this affair …. organic … garden chic … you know, just perfect! Brooke Keegan, the wedding planner and designer behind the day did an incredible job articulating the bride & groom’s vision in a way that seemed completely effortless. Sunny Ravanbach from White Lilac, their incredible florist, is officially a new style guru. Her subtle hand with the flowers, her organic and yet insane execution of the couple’s style ~ love. And Aaron and Jen ~what can I say … the best in the biz! But what Abby DIDN’T have, at the time, was the rest of the story! We just recently got our hands on this short film from Curtis at Living Cinema. In two and a half awesome minutes, he has captured the whole glorious picture! And that, my dears, is no small accomplishment! Brooke & Dustin’s short film from living cinema on Vimeo. If you’re STILL as captivated by this Shady Canyon Golf Club wedding as we are, you can see all five SMP features here … #1, #2, #3, #4, #5! Our thanks to Curtis for bringing this beautiful wedding back to us on the Little Black Book Blog today! *   *   *

Sonoma Winery Wedding by Hendrickson Photography Weddings

We are hoping all of you are enjoying a lovely, sunny holiday and in honor of all things summer, all things care-free and of coarse, all things wedding, we have a shiny, happy, yellow-infused soiree for your Labor Day viewing pleasure. We love, love these bright yellow bridesmaid dresses to pieces and absolutely cannot get enough of all the homemade treats captured to perfection by Hendrickson Photography Weddings. What better way to say au revoir to summer? See more from this gorgeous gathering in the gallery. more happy, yellow details can be seen here! From the beginning, we knew that we wanted our wedding to be comfortable.  Most of our guests had never been to wine country and we wanted our wedding to showcase the rustic beauty of the area. One of the focal points of our wedding was the involvement of our friends and family to create the perfect day.  From the collection of over 1,000 glass jars to provide a candlelight backdrop for the reception, to the handmade bouquets created by the bridal party, our wedding was truly a community effort.  In the months leading up to the wedding, we posted huge pieces of craft paper on our apartment walls to list out all of the details that needed to be taken care of.   The morning prior to the wedding, a few of my bridesmaids and I took a trip to the San Francisco Flower Market and purchased locally grown flowers that were used in the bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding party as well as a few centerpieces placed in mason jars on the tables.  My mom and a close family friend sewed the table runners using washed burlap embroidered with a delicate scalloped border. A close friend that was ordained for the occasion married us under a magnificent oak tree surrounded by vineyards.  His personal words as well as the vows that we wrote to each other helped add to the intimate feeling for the entire evening. At the cocktail hour, we served a signature drink created with fresh-squeezed lemon juice, rosemary simple syrup, cointreau and vodka complemented with drink sticks tied with ribbon and yellow cocktail napkins stamped with our monogram.  The personal chef that we hired put in an incredible amount of time in sourcing the ingredients.  The figs for the appetizers were hand picked and the squash for the orzo salad had been grown especially for our wedding.   All of the other organic produce was from a local sustainable farm.  Many of our guests remarked that it was the best food that they had ever had at a wedding. Our guests danced all evening on the patio under the café string lights, played a pick-up game of bocce and mixed and mingled in the functioning wine barn.  For dessert, in lieu of a traditional wedding cake we asked a few family and friends to bring special treats for a dessert bar.  One of the bridesmaids made our wedding cake, a delicious vanilla cake with a coconut custard filling and coconut buttercream frosting. Others brought homemade desserts including French macaroons, white chocolate cake balls, cheesecake, and chocolate dipped rice crispy treats. The mother of the groom brought cakes that were a favorite from his childhood in Philadelphia. The contributions that our family and friends made to our wedding provided a personal and loving feeling for a day that we will never forget. Jefferson Market Garden Wedding From 4 Eyes Photography

Kellie & Rupert at 4 Eyes Photography sent us this super-sweet wedding that took place at the Jefferson Market Garden in New York City. The couple wanted to keep things simple, but fun! And although there was no formal ‘wedding party’, their moms were the ring bearers! Ohhhhh….so sweet! After the ceremony, they led their small gathering thru the streets of NYC to the charming Little Owl restaurant. Balloons blazing the way! from our beautiful bride … Walter and I wanted our wedding to be small and simple. We also wanted it to contain a bit of unique, New York City romance. Most of all, we wanted the atmosphere to be joyful and fun. We chose the Jefferson Market Garden for our ceremony. The historic atmosphere was ideal, a natural sanctuary right along bustling Sixth Avenue (so bustling that we even had a big, red, tour bus stop to take photos!). One of my favorite details was our 1960's Checker Cab from Film Cars which made for a really neat entrance and some great photographs. Another special detail was that our small dog, Milo, donning a white tux and red bow-tie, participated in the day's events. While we didn't have a traditional wedding party, we wanted our families involved in the ceremony. My mom and Walter's mom acted as ring bearers, carrying the wedding rings tied to long strands of ribbon, along with their bouquets. My sisters acted as bridesmaids (minus the matching dresses) welcoming guests and handing out our programs which were fans printed with our reading, E.B. White's Natural History, and both Walter and my family tree. Walter's dad and my dad were our official witnesses in signing the wedding license. After the ceremony, our guests followed the groom and I, carrying a bunch of colorful balloons, through the downtown streets to our reception at the Little Owl Restaurant. The Little Owl is very quaint and romantic so we didn't need to do much to the space. They filled the room with an incredible array of flowers. And, to honor our grandparents, we displayed photos of the couples alongside our pretty all white wedding cake (thank you, Little Owl) with vintage topper. Poppies and Posies designed all the personal flowers. They created vibrant bouquets of beautifully bright blooms which were right in line with our garden setting. To contribute to the reception's feeling of festivity, we made our own traditional English party crackers to use as place cards. Each guest received their own party cracker marked with their first initial and filled with confetti, vintage favors and a personal note from Walter and me. 4 Eyes Photography was the perfect choice for our photographers. Kellie and Rupert were easy-going and great. Walter and I were not perfect subjects when it came to staged poses and yet they were able to get shots that we love. And, even more importantly, they captured all the little details and all the emotion of the day. We have such wonderful documentation of the event and of our family and friends. We laughed, we danced, we had a blast and we are so glad we have the pictures to prove it! . . .
You can see more of this wonderfully intimate wedding in the gallery {here}. Croquet Rehearsal Party by Photography by Leah

In keeping with the spirit of three day weekends, last summer hurrahs and a chance to don your best summer whites before you become a big fashion faux pas (unless you are the bride of coarse), we have an uber cute Rehearsal party to share. That’s right, I said party because not only did this wedding group eat and drink some fab food and wine but they also partied it up on the croquet field to the tunes of a local jazz band. That sounds like an absolute blast to us! Captured by Leah McCormick, this all white Napa soiree is the perfect way to send you all off into your weekend festivities. Enjoy and catch the full rehearsal bash in the gallery! see more of this croquet soiree here! From the photographer, Leah McCormick: Their wedding was on the 4th of July weekend so I thought this idea for a rehearsal was perfectly festive and a truly wonderful way for all the guests to get to know each other! Croquet, laughing, drinking wine in Napa, a jazz band, delicious food, what more can you ask for?! I absolutely loved shooting it so hopefully the beautiful and carefree feel of their evening comes across. Byron and MacKenzie were living in Nashville while planning their wedding and immediately after moved to NYC where Byron is about to celebrate his white coat ceremony from med school. Their families came in from Washington D.C. and Merced, CA respectively. Everyone was absolutely thrilled to dress in white for the party and spend the weekend in St. Helena. Sayulita, Mexico Wedding Full of DIY

Good morning and happy, happy Friday! Most of you are rallying up for a three day weekend which is ALWAYS nice so we figured we would get the party started with a sun-filled Mexican wedding courtesy of Jillian Mitchell. These Sayulita nuptials are filled with so many DIY projects, making for a completely original and customized event. We love it when couples take a destination wedding by the horns and infuse the day with their own personalities. Colorful, magical, gorgeous are just a few descriptive words that come to mind. Find more of this drool-inducing fiesta in the gallery. see more of those fun DIY details here! There were a few things that my handsome husband and I were certain that we wanted for our wedding. We wanted a small, intimate gathering of our close friends and family. Our petite guest list of 19 people suited this requirement perfectly. We wanted to find the perfect location that had the right mix of sweetness and rustic charm. We found just that in the small, fishing village of Sayulita, Mexico. We wanted to find a photographer that would be able to understand us and share our vision for our big day. We were lucky enough to find that in the uber talented Jillian Mitchell. She was able to capture the magic of the day and put it into print. But most of all, we wanted our wedding to reflect us. We included lots of DIY projects and personal touches, making our wedding our very own. It was sweet, it was charming and it was perfect…for us. The day amazing and it couldn’t have happened without all the hard work of our loving friends and family. Oh, and a kick-butt photographer doesn’t hurt either! Canadian Loft Wedding by A Simple Photograph

Erin Samuell of A Simple Photograph is one of our favey fave photographers. She always captures the most beautiful weddings where the love and emotion is so vivid, you can almost touch them. This particular wedding is on our awesome list because A) it was held at an uber cool loft called The Tannery, B) the bride is rocking a party in the front, business in the back dress (which we soo love) and C) the whole wedding was planned in 8 weeks!!! Say what?!? For all of you who have planned a wedding or are in the depths right now, you know that is a CRAZY short time-frame but the wedding turned out beautifully and definitely gets our SMP stamp of approval! See more of the lofty goodness in the gallery.

see more details from The Tannery here! Shelley, the bride, also happens to be a great wedding planner and she decided to prove it when she planned her own wedding this summer! She announced her engagement EIGHT WEEKS AGO! That’s right, she managed to do this with EIGHT WEEKS NOTICE! How she managed to do it all I have no idea. The attention to detail was outstanding! She hand embroidered hankies for each and every guest! She had a beautiful custom cake made that displayed a poem that the groom wrote himself! She lavishly decorated one of Kitcheners newest hotspots, the Tannery! She framed the actual proposal (it was on a napkin) and placed it on display. The sand ceremony, the gourmet meal, the everything!! Eight weeks!! I tell you, that’s a girl who knows how to host a wedding!!
